The Commonwealth Charter Academy Capital Campus was an adaptive reuse renovation of an existing building for the new home of the Academy’s central administrative offices. Because the Academy is an on-line K-12 public cyber charter school, key space requirements unique to this office is for on-site teachers to conduct on-line lessons and flexible learning environments which accommodate one-on-one student/teacher learning and which also promote teacher collaboration. Students use the facility for new student orientation, parent/ student-teacher meetings, hands-on lab experiments, and state-mandated testing. This sites features their AgWorks facility which serves the Aquaponics program.
The Academy is currently developing regional teacher centers throughout Pennsylvania in which each location serves a given radius and provides a physical workplace for the teachers and administrators.
