Uniontown Area High School

Uniontown, PA

The design solution to the 1900’s facility included the relocation of kitchen and cafeteria to make room for additional classroom space. The new cafeteria and kitchen space is now lined with windows to allow for daylighting and views of the courtyard and newly renovated athletic stadium. Additional renovations included upgrades to the swimming pool, new finishes and new MEP systems and windows.

The main entrance was split into two separate locations, one entrance for parent drop off and entrance to administrative offices, and a separate student entrance located next to the new bus drop off. The bus drop off has been redesigned to create a bus lane that wraps around the main parking area, this bus lane will alleviate bus traffic in the morning and afternoon.

Historic scope of work included restoring the 1922 facade to repair cracked and damaged brick, masonry repointing and replacement of some damaged precast concrete and terracotta trim. Scope of work also included replacing all of the windows to replicate the original windows.
