Dallas High School
The new 1,200 student Dallas High School is located at the main campus of the Dallas School District. The campus planning provided by Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates completely changed vehicular circulation to relieve congestion and conflict with bus traffic and parents/students. The entire site was evaluated and improvements implemented to the site stormwater system to alleviate localized flooding.
The School is the center of the Community and as such was designed to accommodate a variety of after hours community functions both within the facility and on site. The student commons is a key component of the design and serves as a Community Area for the school both during and after school hours for public events. Technology is integrated throughout the facility to support the educational program. Classrooms are designed for a maximum of 25 students. The facility was designed with sustainability in mind, where environmentally responsible design provides a superior learning environment while saving the school district on operating costs.
