Clarke County High School
Construction recently completed for the prototype design of the new state-of-the-art Clarke County High School. The organizational strategy of the floor plan features a wide linear student commons or “main street”, infused with an abundance of natural daylight. The main street bisects the building floor plan organizing the major assembly areas of the building together and separating and zoning the educational classroom instruction areas for a dynamic and functional solution.
The new Clarke County High School contains 22 general, business & science classrooms along with 6 science labs and 2 business labs. Also included are 6 special educational classrooms, 2 art rooms and 5 technology labs, which include a 5,600 SF agricultural lab with classrooms. There is a state-of-the-art auditorium, full library and media center. The new college size basketball court gymnasium seats 1,150 people and includes team support spaces, such as a wrestling and weight room.
Clarke County intends to convert the old high school into an elementary school.
