Hagerstown Community College – Student Center
The student center expansion at Hagerstown Community College increases the size of the current 13,094 GSF facility to approximately 32,134 GSF. This expansion is necessary to accommodate the student enrollment growth of 68 percent since 2002.
The Student Center expansion provides a key component to creating the College Center to facilitate student interaction, along with expanded dining and lounge space where informal groups can meet.
Occupants of the center include Student Activities, Student Government Association, Food Services, and the Campus Store. Expanded areas provide a place for students to gather informally with their peers and groups to study, use computers, or relax between classes. Additionally, the creation of an open lab for job training/life skills complements the College’s academic advising model and retention initiatives.
